The Dematic Automated Case Pick System for Food & Beverage applications is an order fulfillment system for food and beverage producers. The system is ideal for operations that are currently case picking manually. The system can operate in ambient, cooler, and freezer environments.
The system is well suited for producers and wholesalers of consumables such as red meat and poultry, food, beverage, groceries, personal care, paper products, pharmaceuticals, general merchandise as well as for industrial supplies, replacement parts, hardware, and electronic devices
The Dematic Automated Case Pick System for Food & Beverage applications has a pre-engineered, standardized design configuration that ensures predictable case picking performance.
The Dematic Warehouse Execution System (WES) software manages a continuous flow of orders for processing downloaded from the Warehouse Management System (WMS). The WMS is responsible for the overall operation of the facility.
The Dematic WES software is a scalable logistics software platform responsible for directing, controlling, and synchronizing workflows. It dynamically manages processes, inventory, workforce, and material handling automation in real time.
The Dematic WES software determines and tracks the storage locations for the inventory held in the Case Buffer/Sequencer sub-system. The software releases cases in sequence to create mixed case pallets in specific build patterns.

Status and completion
Dematic Automated Case Picking systems are more accurate, require less labor to operate, and use less warehouse space than Non-Automated Case Picking systems.
Manual Case Picking | Automated Case Picking |
Manual picking occurs in harsh environment (temperature controlled) | Automated picking, removes workforce from temperature-controlled area |
Manual put-away, slotting, picking are prone to errors | Software effectively directs workflows, fulfillment processes |
Non-optimized case selection | Inventory and order management by product code, date, weight, FEFO |
Workers may not pick FEFO (first expired, first out) date on carton | Optimized case handling, direct access to each case in automated storage |
Manual process inefficient and slow | Dematic WES software manages and directs case sequencing |
Traditional warehouse equipment | Automated equipment: case sequencer/buffer |
Palletizing by placing cases an industrial truck | Robotic or manual assist palletizing |
