Unit Sortation

Efficiently separate batches of products into their correct orders

 Unit Sortation

Products that can be handled on unit sortation systems such as cross belt sorters include apparel, small cartons, electronic items, CDs, and similar.  The main purpose of a sorter is to separate batches of products into their correct orders. These batches may be generated from a batch pick operation, or more recently from retrievals from tote or carton ASRS modules.

Batch Picking

 Batch Picking

Batch picking can increase pick rates by factors of 3 or 4 over conventional picking to order. The products will then need sorting to order.

Dematic Multishuttle Retrieval System

 Multishuttle

Miniloads and Dematic Multishuttles make suitable "engines" to feed operators product to induct onto a unit sorter. This avoids the need for a separate pick face, and operators to pick from it or replenish it.

Sorter Chutes

 Sorter Chutes

Chute design for sorters is critical, in order to separate batches, and ensure reliable and efficient placing into the dispatch container.

Stacking Chutes

 Stacking Chutes

Special stacking chutes are achievable for certain products, such as these stacking chutes for CDs.
