Case Order Assembly

Case Order Assembly is a highly efficient and flexible case picking system

 Case Order Assembly

Case order assembly is an order fulfillment technique where pallets are stored, and then products are depalletized, buffered as cases, and retrieved on-demand to a pack station.

The overall process offers many significant benefits compared to traditional ways of picking cases, such as:

  • Productivity levels 4 or 5 times higher
  • Very high pick accuracy levels
  • Flexible to changing business requirements, such as numbers of SKUs handled
  • Efficient picking for stores with very different sizes, SKU ranges, and other local requirements

Storage and Depalletizing Process

 Depalletising

Stage 1 of the process is pallet storage and then depalletizing of product. Depalletizing can be an efficient manual process or fully automated using layer picking techniques.

High-Speed Case Buffer

 Case Buffer

In stage 2, cases are routed to and stored in a high speed buffer. This allows depalletized products to be buffered for a relatively short period, and then retrieved as required to a palletizing station.

ErgoPall - High-Rate Manual Palletizing

 ErgoPall

The next stage of the process involves retrieving cases from the buffer in a sequence. In this way, a pallet or roll cage can be loaded quickly, efficiently, and ergonomically by operators at specially designed work stations.
