The task: centralizing two spare parts warehouses into one, in order to achieve significant cost reductions through common usage of warehouse capacity. The solution: based on an SAP Logistics Execution System (LES), Dematic implemented integrated material flow control linked to both customer-side SAP systems. This was the solution to the requirement that both companies – each with their own ERP systems – could access the warehouse while only being able to view their own inventories. Costs are likewise easy to apportion cleanly so that each company is billed appropriately.
