at the new Tech Center Offenbach

Live demonstration of Dematic logistics solutions – Testing and optimization tailored to your requirements

On February 1, 2007, we officially opened our new Tech Center at our Offenbach headquarters. Here, visitors can see many of our logistical systems and system components in action. Our Tech Center is of particular value to customers and potential customers because not only do we demonstrate our systems and system components in a realistic context, we can also test and optimize these using the customer's own conditions – i.e. with customer-specific wares, special containers or loading aids.

Our new Dematic Tech Center always offers a current overview of our innovative system components in operation as well as an impressive demonstration of our IT solutions. Currently, for example, the new C-L 100 package conveyor family, the optimized palette conveyor of the BK 25 family, the new Multishuttle™ for highly dynamic picking as well as the newest RFID applications and logistics IT solutions are on display.

The exhibition tour consists of five stations. Experts at each station answer questions and explain details pertaining to each product:

1. The main characteristics of the new Dematic C-L 100 package conveyor system (which features sorting, merging, buffering and singulation) are its built-in "intelligence", high degree of standardization and flexible adaptation to customer requirements including simple changes to conveyor functions. These are shown in easy-to-understand demonstrations. 
   
   
2. The optimized palette conveyors of the BK 25 family are also presented. Like the C-L 100, the BK 25s will immediately catch your eye due to the additional functionality. All the functions, such as direction changes, centered positioning of palletes on conveyor belts, and precise measurement and control of palette status are shown live.
   
   
3. Our Dematic Multishuttle™, the modular and scalable high performance storage and retrieval system which features one or more high-speed shuttles in each aisle. The Multishuttle also forms the core of Dematic’s latest high rate dynamic picking solutions.
   
   
4. In the IT showroom, IT solutions like Pick-by-Voice, Pick-to-Light, Performance Management software and examples of reference installations are shown, as well as an overview of IT service and support.
   
   
5. In the RFID zone, visitors can see RFID applications for the logistics environment being demonstrated and tested. In contrast to other RFID test facilities, the Dematic Tech Center Offenbach contains real conveyor systems, forklift trucks and high-rise rack along with an RFID antenna gate, mobile RFID readers, and integrated software so that customer-specific scenarios can be realistically tested. Dematic software solutions with configurable functionality – from simple asset management  software to comprehensive Warehouse Management System (WMS), through to complex SAP integration – are also demonstrated.

In addition, lectures on the latest subjects in logistics and distribution will be offered regularly at the Tech Center. In April 2007, these will be announced on our website: www.dematic.de.
