Due to the paperless order and dispatch processing, the entire logistics process at Helukabel, from goods incoming to inventory, production, dispatch and invoicing, is available in the database. The core of the IT system is an object-oriented, Java-based software solution from Dematic. This is a warehouse management solution with custom functionalities: The software controls and manages planning and scheduling and material provision, but also the integration of the production environment, i.e. the cut-to-order workstations. The order-based prefabrication is automated all the way to the selection of the cutting program. Overall, the software controls 40 PC and RF terminals, making all processes transparent. The software manages 31,000 items and processes all daily orders.
The implemented features include the automatic forwarding of the orders provided by the host to the production and warehouse environment as well as the management of outdoor storage areas.
