Initially, Helukabel contracted Dematic "only" for the planning of a new logistics solution. In this process, the current status of the existing logistics concept was assessed, which also included the integration of the cable prefabrication operation. The huge cost savings potential of the new concept quickly became obvious during the development of a new, demand-based strategy. Dematic devised detailed plans and prepared the tender documentation for the con- struction work and building installations as well as for the logistics equipment which eventually enabled Helukabel to initiate the bidding process.
After all, a medium-sized business will always select a logistics automation provider for an investment volume of about 16m euros only on the basis of a convincing price-performance ratio.
