The challenge: The product was extremely important for the company, which provides 70% of the annual requirements for dairy products in Israel. Extending the product range and the quantities supplied, as well as the reorganization of the production processes, led to the decision to set up an automated production and logistics site. For this, both the product quality and the company profi tability were very important.
Our solution: The scope of services referred to the material flow systems for primary materials and packaging materials within the dairy, the storage and internal distribution, as well as transportation of the end products by electric suspendedtrack mono-rail through the incubation store and the chilling tunnel (yoghurt) to the central high-rack store. The neighboring shipping zone allows the simultaneous loading of four trucks with end products.
Our service includes three turnkey highrack stores with more than 5,000 places. For the connection of the stores to the total of 21 product lines, the buffers required for the product maturation and the shipping, a 400-m-long electric suspendedtrack monorail was delivered. The complete installation is integrated by an IT system.
RFID solution – for hygienic reasons, for the entire material flow washable plastic pallets are used. Tnuva has decided to introduce an identification system for the pallets utilizing RFID tags. The RFID tags will identify the pallets at the reporting points reliably for many years. This avoids the need to stick on bar code labels, which are easily lost during cleaning. The RFID tags are embedded in the plastic pallets and in this way protected from water.
Extreme requirements were made on the RFID technology. In order to ensure reliable identification of the pallets throughout the entire production process, the RFID tags used must be resistant to heat and cold.
The plastic pallets are also used as reusable transport containers. By means of the RFID identification, the receipt and the dispatch of a pallet can easily be documented. This allows the integration of the customer into the management of empties.
