Your warehouse is mapped according to function (e.g. high-bay, bulk or picking warehouse) in the warehouse structure. All other areas such as allocation zones, handover-point, and work stations (e.g. quality inspection stations and packing stations) are also modeled.
- Build picking waves – for an optimized planning
Delivery items can be combined flexibly to picking waves on the basis of activity areas, routes, and products. Special building rules and release strategies allow you the best possible picking planning.
Rule-based picking order generation – for an efficient route through the warehouse
At the moment of release of a picking wave ideal work packages are formed which assure an optimal follow-up processing. When starting the picking procedure the pickers are supplied with all necessary information and directed through the warehouse on optimized routes.
Storage strategies – determine the best storage area
Basis for storage and retrieval strategies is the master data with which the storage arrangements are created. With product-, requirement-, and packing data the ideal storage area and -type can be determined and then used for put away strategies.
The EWM-integrated Material Flow System (MFS) takes over a SAP internal Material Flow Computer and is responsible for the control of automated systems. Besides the control of a Handling Unit across a conveyor line ("routing") the MFS also carries out the handling of the direct telegram traffic from and to the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
