Heusenstamm, 18 November 2020 – Dematic continues its Virtual Showcase series with Innovation Day on November 30th. This next round is dedicated completely to the future of supply chain management. At this exclusive online event, top speakers will provide cross-industry insights into best-practice examples and present trend-setting solutions for intralogistics. They will examine the opportunities and challenges of the COVID-19 crisis as well as trends and strategies. In addition, the Dematic will present its innovative technologies for trade, production and services. A virtual tour of a current Dematic system will allow participants to see for themselves how an automation system operates and the advantages it offers. The event will be held in English to accommodate international participants.
"The coronavirus pandemic has shown how important functioning supply chains are for society and the economy. A joint and cross-industry exchange of knowledge is therefore more important than ever. Even if — due to the current circumstances — it is completely virtual,” said Jessica Heinz, Head of Marketing Dematic Central Europe. The strong response to our initial virtual event demonstrated the appetite for information about intralogistics solutions to fill the void left by trade fairs.
Decision-makers, warehouse managers and supply chain managers can expect an informative and varied programme on Innovation Day. The discussion will focus on current and future challenges along the supply chain this year. This sharing of different perspectives will provide participants with valuable insights for personal development. Participants will get a close look at the Dematic portfolio of services during an online guided tour through the inner workings of a current Dematic system and feature a Dematic Automated Mixed Case Palletising (AMCAP) system that ensures sequenced, fully automatic palletising of different goods and packaging units on pallets or roll containers, while saving space and energy. "To bring the highest value to decision-makers in supply chain management, we place special emphasis on the flexibility, scalability and dynamics in our solutions to allow for immediate growth," Ms Heinz said.
Many exciting formats await the participants, including the keynote speech of award-winning futurologist and leading European digital expert, Shivvy Jervis. Jervis will discuss the use of the ever-increasing data volumes in intralogistics and assess it in light of advances in artificial intelligence. Jennifer Tabbert, Head of Software Sales at Dematic, will address the question of how stores and distribution centres can make their intralogistics processes more efficient, flexible and transparent with an integrated software solution. Additional presentations will deal with future omnichannel strategies, innovative micro-fulfilment solutions for grocery stores and retailers and the department store of the future. All keynote speeches will be illustrated with innovative best practice examples.
