Case Sortation

For both stocked and stockless DCs

 Dematic Case Sortation

High-speed case sorters are the foundation of several solutions that enhance distribution center speed and efficiency.

Sorters are used in:

  • Stocked DCs - fed by full or split case pick modules
  • Stockless DCs - fed directly from trucks or from depalletizing systems

DCs can also have a combination of both of the above.

Pick to Belt and Sortation Solutions

 Pick to Belt

Product is picked from stock from pick modules. Full case pick modules have pallet locations for all SKUs, and mezzanines and take-away belts for the product. Split case modules usually have carton live storage locations, and a conveyor system to allow picking directly into dispatch totes or cartons.

Split Case Modules

 Split Case Modules

Modules for picking split case items into dispatch totes or cartons will also feed a stocked sortation system. These work efficiently for orders with a high "hit rate" - that is where each order requires a significant percentage of the SKUs available.

Direct Truck Loading

 Direct Truck Loading

Case sortation systems are frequently used where trucks are loose loaded with cases. This is particularly the situation in countries with long travel distances between cities, and with products that have relatively low density (for example general merchandise rather than grocery), so the full cube of the truck can be utilized.

Palletizing

 Accumulation Chutes
Accumulation chutes may be arranged to allow manual palletizing of products. Products may be scanned so they can be associated with a particular pallet.
