LogiMAT: Dematic Presents the First Live Demonstration of the Pouch Sorter

Heusenstamm / Stuttgart, 28 November 2018 - For the first time, Dematic GmbH is showing its pouch sorter live and in action at LogiMAT 2019 in Stuttgart from 19 to 21 February. For the presentation of its industry-specific automation solutions, the intralogistics automation company has expanded its trade fair presence with a live demonstration area. The automated hanging system on roller adapters can be used to sort, store and buffer batches of hanging and flat-lying goods as well as boxes. With a unique patented system, Dematic also offers the possibility of automatic pouch unloading. A highlight is the Blackbox developed especially for the trade fair, to which only selected and previously registered persons have access. Among other things, Dematic will be demonstrating its new Dematic iQ InSights software, which intelligently networks all warehouse information. In addition, this mobile automation sector company is exhibiting an optimised driverless transport vehicle (AGV). Dematic can be found in Hall 1 at Booth H61.

"At our booth, we make it possible for our customers to see our products for themselves in real time. At the same time, we offer enough space for personal conversations," says Jessica Heinz, Marketing Director at Dematic. The company is showing its pouch sorter on around 100 square meters of the 240 square meter trade fair presentation. This is intended particularly for use in optimised fulfilment and return management with e-commerce enterprises and those in the clothing trade. In the Blackbox, the intralogistics automater focuses on new software solutions. With Dematic iQ InSights, the company has developed new software that links contract fulfilment and system performance management data. "IT solutions and logistics processes are closely linked today," says Heinz.

At the exhibition booth you can see additional display models of different industry-specific automation solutions from Dematic. For example, AutoStore®, the compact warehouse and goods-to-person piece goods picking system, which is sold worldwide by Dematic, is exhibited. The modular system is specifically tailored to the needs of e-commerce. It consists of a container tower with robots moving on its surface. These automatically access the stored goods, compile the orders and transport them to the workstations. With the system, customers optimise their storage space usage and automate picking at the same time.

As a solution for the food trade, the intralogistics automater shows the Dematic Multishuttle in various designs. The Freeze version, for example, is suitable for use in deep-freeze warehouses at temperatures up to minus 30 degrees and automates picking and palletizing for different temperature zones. Part of the trade fair appearance is also the exhibition of an AGV. "The manufacturing industry benefits above all from the self-driving vehicles," said Heinz.
