We have also simply reversed the principle of identifying goods using RFID labels. Tags can be permanently built into the floor or in shelves and the reading unit is mounted mobilely on fork lifts.

This enables the fork lift's position to be reliably determined in the RFID tag raster, and the driver – controlled via Dematic IT database – can be directed to the desired product by the most optimal route.

RFID technology thus greatly reduces errors in goods input and output. The readers on the vehicles record the data stored on the RFID tags and transmit these to communications software. After comparing these to the data in the warehouse administration system, the software recognizes whether the correct pallet has been picked and informs the driver what to do next.
