Producers can economically fulfill the EPC requirements required in trade
As is already the case in the USA, suppliers of major retail chains will soon have to fulfill the demands of European customers by attaching RFID tags to individual cartons as well as pallets. This will greatly increase their work, making as much process automation as possible an absolute necessity - with reliable mechatronics and the corresponding logistics IT:
Dematic's innovative Quick Tag RFID systems add a high degree of automation to this process. RFID tags can now be attached rapidly and economically to individual cartons - not only on pallets, but even before palleting. The advantages of the Quick Tag Line primarily benefit suppliers to the major retail chains, who can now meet the demands of their customers to attach RFID tags early in the production process to cartons - not only to pallets.
The highly flexible Dematic Quick Tag Line is an innovative subsystem that integrates several processes into one, i.e. printing and attaching RFID tags and identifying cartons, and then synchronizes this with carton transport. It is also possible to attach RFID tags only to selected cartons.
For stand-alone solutions, it is rarely necessary to make major changes to logistics processes. The user can fulfill the requirements of retailers in the usual manner, but much more economically. A stand-alone solution replaces up to four manual workplaces. But the benefits are even higher, however, when the Quick Tag Line is integrated into the existing material and information flow - possibly with robot palleting. Both solutions have the same objective: providing the user with an economical, automated system for RFID carton tagging that is integrated into the material flow.
The Dematic Quick Tag solution includes conveyor technology, barcode readers, RFID printing and labeling devices, RFID readers and software that tracks individual cartons together with the existing logistics solution. The comprehensive, integrated solution makes RFID carton handling simple and economical.
