Intelligent object routing to transparent goods tracking

RFID can be used anywhere in the supply chain. If carefully considered and applied, it makes the entire supply chain more effective, improves profitability, reduces costs and speeds processes: from issuing to picking to shipping. Intelligent object routing based on local information enables even complex material flow processes to be ably managed. To do this, RFID tags are attached to each container or tray. In addition to identifying the object on which they are attached, these tags also contain control information such as destination. Customer-specific information like order numbers can also be saved on the tag as well. These data are read with RFID reading/writing devices and transferred directly to the PLC (programmable logic controllers) for machine control. Under certain circumstances, no material flow computer is needed.
