Dematic presents its new RFID Gate for optimizing the circulation of resusable transport items (RTI)

Supply chains are being increasingly monitored by electronic means – for example by the use of RFID tags. It stands to reason, therefore, that RFID can also be used for MTIs.

Dematic has developed a process in which the RFID tags on the RTIs are read by the same antenna that is used for flow of the goods – in compliance with the EPCglobal standards applicable in the trade and related sectors.

The Dematic process – an antenna gate for bunch detection in the UHF waveband – provides for the first time a particularly efficient method of managing recirculating assets: absolute transparency of stock levels, optimum asset management (number of RTIs in circulation), tracking loss and its causes, anticipatory maintenance and preparation for use at the correct time.

We will be exhibiting this new RFID Gate in action for the first time at the "LogIDSquare" at LogIntern 2006 in Nuremberg: as part of the joint Dematic, FLog (Dortmund Uni), Gedas, Oracle and Sun exhibit. You can find us in Hall 7, Booth 244a.

Nuremberg’s successful exhibition trio "FachPack", "PrintPack" and "LogIntern" – at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center – is highly regarded by industry experts because, above all, of the wealth of information available and comprehensive range of applications solutions on offer.

More than 30,000 trade visitors are expected.

One of the special highlights is the "LogIDSquare – where Auto-ID meets Logistics". A group booth covering an area of about 1,000 m² with 50 or so exhibitors, special forums and special exhibits presents the latest developments and solutions in the logistics and special Auto-ID industry. As in previous years the "Verein zur Förderung innovativer Verfahren in der Logistik" (VVC or, in English, "Association for the Furtherance of Innovative Processes in Logistics") will be the Nuremberg Fair’s consultant partner.
