15th German Material Flow Congress,

March 2-3, 2006 - Munich / Germany

Dematic will take part in the 15th German Material Flow Congress in Munich under the motto "Creating logistics results". The professional meeting presented by the VDI Wissensforum IWB will be held on March 2-3 at the Technical University Munich (Garching). It will inform visitors about current trends and recent technological developments in logistics. Not only will Dematic moderate a forum, it will also exhibit solutions that use Pick-by-Voice and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.

On Friday morning, Klaus Sterzel, Vice President of Global Project Management in the Distribution & Warehousing segment of Dematic, will moderate a forum entitled "Innovative applications in industry and commerce". In addition to logistics strategies at Wal-Mart and production supply in the aviation industry, open source logistics at Volkswagen and ASP – Alternative System Perspectives – or "Logistics out of the wall socket" will be presented and discussed.

Dematic will present its Pick-by-Voice technology in the accompanying professional exhibit. Because employees who use this system obtain and confirm all information via speech, they have their hands free and can place their full attention on their tasks. Dematic has implemented one of the largest Pick-by-Voice projects in Europe with Inex Partners Oy, the largest Finnish commercial enterprise, whose headquarters are in Helsinki. The Pick-by-Voice solutions were introduced within an SAP system in order to achieve more productivity and improved quality in the picking process. After completion of the fourth and last project phase, Inex has calculated productivity increases of at least 10% due to the conversion.
