Feeder stations have the task of transporting parcels to the sorter and separating and identifying them on the way. The sorter has to be fed smoothly and regularly for it to achieve the desired throughput.
The new feeder stations from Dematic are equipped with AC 3 Siemens servomotors. Each parcel is automatically checked optically to see that it is facing the right way before it is fed into the sorter. The positioning unit then takes over the facing with variable, controllable belts. The new Poly V type belt is used, which not only has a long service life but also runs extremely quietly.
